Née en Janvier 1986, Cheryse Nicol Pickens est sur la voie de la célébrité internationale. Connue sous le nom de Chey.N sa passion pour la musique et des années de travail acharnées ont permis à Chey.N de devenir une artiste très polyvalente
En effet, elle est rappeuse/chanteuse/danseuse, et fait partie du duo de producteurs « The CUT Crew». Plus qu’une artiste polyvalente, Chey est un reflet direct des expériences qui ont façonnées sa vie, et cet avenir radieux elle a créé en se consacrant à atteindre ses rêves. Ses premières expériences ne servent qu’à élargir sa vision de la vie, c’est grâce à ses particularités que le nombre de fans ne cessent de grandir à travers le monde, non seulement aux États-Unis mais aussi au Royaume-Uni, en France et partout dans le monde !

Chey N à grandit entre Sheffield, l’Angleterre et New York City. Elle a commencée à danser à l’âge de 3 ans puis a été découverte par un agent au cours d’un voyage à la FAO Schwarz, c’est grâce à cet agent qu’elle a commencée sa carrière au cinéma et à la télévision. Depuis, elle est apparue dans All my children, les saisons 5 et 6 de Law and Order, Criminal Intent et Special Victims Uni.
Chey a signée son 1er contrat avec un label indie pop appelé Krizza Muzic à 14 ans .
C’est là qu’elle a travaillée avec T-Money & Dr Dre (YO MTV Raps pour les plus anciens comme moi), ainsi que Ossie Gibson afin d’aider Chey N à façonner son univers Hiphop & RNB / Punk .

Après 6 années de pause musicale, elle est revenue en 2007 avec la mixtape « Cheeky Pop Volume 1″ présentant un tout nouveau style . La mixtape à un succès incroyable , pour une artiste non signé chez un major.
Chey N met en avant un nouveau genre musical, qu’elle appelle « Cheeky » pop en hommage à ses racines Britanniques.
Actuellement, Chey N travaille sur son prochain disque et collabore également comme artiste et compositrice avec d’autres artistes et producteurs ( Kwame, Baby Paul des Beatminerz) Dj’s, danseurs, acteurs et réalisateurs.

PROJETS EN COURS :
Chey est actuellement en tournée pour la promotion de son dernier EP « The DEFintion of Chey.N » (après Cheeky Pop Volume 1 Paru 31/10/07, vous pouvez l’écouter ici). Chey est toujours indépendante pour l’instant , mais vu son succès , ça ne devrait pas durer longtemps. Je pense que 2009 sera son année. En plus de la musique, Chey veut également faire connaître la marque Française, chic et fresh « Dumpe fresh» aux États-Unis. Chey.N et Punk Shy (Skater et le producteur / rappeur hors de France) sont les visages officiels de cette marque.

Born January 18th 1986, Cheryse Nicol Pickens is on the road to international stardom. Better known as Chey.N her passion for music and years of struggle have created this dynamic rapper/singer/writer/dancer/ and 1/2 of the production duo « The Cut Crew ». More then just a multitalented artist, Chey is a direct reflection of the raw experiences that have shaped her life and the bright future she created by dedicating her self to reaching her dreams, those early experiences only served to broaden her perspective and are just a small part of what makes her so relatable to her steady growing fan base of people not only in the US but the UK, France and all over the world!

Growing up between Sheffield, England and New York City; Chey started dancing at the age of 3 then was discovered by an agent during a trip to FAO Schwarz, which began her career in film and Television. Since then she has appeared on All my children, the « 05 and « 06 seasons of Law and Order, Criminal Intent and Special Victims Unit, on Viacom networks as well as NBC and ABC, and in musical theater productions from Les Miserables to Once on This Island… By 14 Chey had signed her 1st recording contract with an indie pop label called Krizza Muzic which then led to a partnership with Persaud Brothers Advertising and their short lived label « Whylde Chylde Music ». It was there that she worked with T-Money & Dr Dre (of YO Mtv Raps) along with Ossie Gibson to help shape her unique Hiphop & RNB/Punk persona.

After a 6 year musical hiatus she came back in 2007 with the mixtape « Cheeky Pop Volume 1″ showcasing a brand new style and the first official release of her spitting. The mixtape unexpectedly skyrocketed her from obscurity into the « whos who » of internet unsigned hype by gaining (for her) an incredible international presence in just 8 months (dont believe us? Google her!)…the rest is history in the making. She’s blazing, from her bold fresh image to her slick flow and sharp lyrical content to her gritty soulful voice. She is simply in a league of her own. Repping a new genre which she affectionately calls « cheeky » Pop in homage to her British roots. Chey.N is currently shopping her project, working on her LP and collaborating both as an artist and writer with various other artists, producers ( Platnum selling producer Kwame, Next Selection, Baby Paul of the Beatminerz, Grammy winning producer Omen ), dj’s, dancers, actors and directors. CURRENT PROJECTS:
On the tail of the Gucci Mane remix for her 1st single « Hard Hitta » going crazy on the underground and getting spins on college radio AND after grabbing the title as the Number 1 artist in Unsigned Hype(Urbansteez.com) which she still holds…Chey’s main focus is the promotional tour (currently doing dates in NY) supporting her latest EP « The DEFintion of Chey.N » (a follow up to Cheeky Pop Volume 1 released 10/31/07) It has a street counterpart which is hosted by DJ Tha Kid Quest from Fly Society and the first single from that « So Sick » was officially released on her myspace in June…Chey is unsigned as an artist, but judging by her rapid indie rise its safe to say that wont be the case for long. Look for the movement to be blowin in 2008! On top of the musical projects Chey is also getting ready to bring her skate crew from France « Dumpe Fresh » to the US. They’ve got a crazy sick clothing line that is vibrant, chic, and fresh. The line is on the come up and currently looking for a manufacturing and distribution deal for North America (look for mentions on thatshiphop.com, WWS Mag, SPRAY, XXL, Shoes Up) Flo-rida, Havoc of Mobb Deep, The Retro kids and Melissa Ford are just a few who have already co-signed the crew. Chey.N and Punk Shy(Skater and producer/rapper out of France) are the official faces of the movement. Also coming soon a new reality web series « Blowin Up » which is a video diary of life as the Chey.N movement continues to expand…so stay tuned!
